How is WhatsApp API cost calculated?
Since July 1, 2025 Meta charges per delivered message, not per conversation, and the price depends on the message category and the recipient's country. Marketing messages cost the most, and a service message costs the same as a utility message in that country.
Are customer service replies free?
Until September 30, 2026, yes. From October 1, 2026 each business number gets its first 1,000 service messages free every month, then each is charged at the utility rate. Messages also stay free for 72 hours after you reply within 24 hours to a customer who came from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad.
Are these numbers accurate for my bill?
The tool is an estimate for planning only, using Meta's published rate card for October 1, 2026. The real bill depends on each customer's country, volume tiers and Meta's quarterly updates; Meta's invoice is the only authoritative amount.
